Gurudongmar Lake Visit
About this activity
At 17,800 feet, Gurudongmar is one of the highest lakes in the world. It is considered sacred by Buddhists and Sikhs. The water is a milky turquoise blue, surrounded by snow-white peaks.
A part of the lake never freezes, even in -20 degree winters, which is believed to be a miracle. The oxygen is thin, the landscape is barren and stark, yet the beauty is celestial.
It feels like standing on the roof of the world.
